đŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș Die deutschsprachige Version finden Sie unten. Hello and welcome to Riverside Farm! We’ve just started welcoming visitors — come and be among the first to discover our small farm by the river, right next to a protected forest area, nestled between woods and the Aare. About a year ago, we began reviving the farm after it had been in a kind of “beauty sleep” for many years. Since then, we have planted an elderberry orchard and established a berry field. This spring we are continuing to expand with seasonal vegetables. Sustainable and regenerative farming practices are very important to us. We are gradually integrating electroculture elements into our land and orchard to support natural plant vitality. We work without chemical fertilizers or pesticides and instead focus on strengthening natural cycles and soil health. Our bees play an essential role in pollination, and we allow them to keep their own honey over winter and to swarm naturally. Our chickens are also part of this ecological balance — they provide eggs and meat and help us maintain the orchard, for example by helping to keep the elderberry orchard free of mice (or at least that’s the plan!). We keep chickens and two light cold-blooded horses. Inside the barn we also have a large incubator, and we are already looking forward to the next season when fluffy baby chicks will be everywhere. What you can learn here WWOOFers can learn about small-scale regenerative farming, berry cultivation, chicken keeping, and orchard care. Depending on the season, you may also gain experience with sowing, planting, harvesting, pruning, and general farm maintenance. We enjoy sharing what we are learning as we continue to revive and develop the farm. Typical day Daily routines vary depending on the season and the weather. We usually start in the morning with the animals — feeding, cleaning the stables, providing fresh water, and letting them outside. After a short break we continue working in the gardens or orchard with seasonal tasks such as sowing, planting, harvesting, pruning, or small maintenance projects around the farm. Around lunchtime we normally finish the main work of the day and enjoy a good and cheerful meal together. We can accommodate up 2 WWOOFers in 2 spacious bedrooms with nice bedding. Every WWOOFer has its own bedroom, or else sharing is explicitly asked upfront confirmation. Meals are fresh, seasonal, and regionally sourced. We are happy to accommodate individual dietary preferences, including vegetarian, gluten-free, or other specific needs — just let us know in advance. The nearby river offers wonderfully peaceful moments. Even for us, it still feels like a little holiday whenever we spend time at one of its natural beaches. The region is perfect for cycling and hiking, with beautiful trails through forests and along the water. It is also well connected by public transport, making it easy to explore other parts of Switzerland. I also enjoy picking wild herbs and vegetables and turning them into delicious homemade dishes — something I’m always happy to share. We enjoy working outdoors, sharing good food, and creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. As we are just beginning to welcome WWOOFers, you will be among the first to experience life on our farm. If you enjoy nature, animals, good food, and learning about small-scale regenerative farming, we would be happy to welcome you to Riverside Farm.

My brother and I had a wonderful time staying with Manon, and we would highly recommend this WWOOF experience to anyone looking to learn about farming while spending time in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Our days usually started early, and every day brought something different. We helped plant a variety of vegetables, watered the gardens, collected fallen apples from the orchard, cleaned the chicken poop, and took care of many other tasks around the farm. The work was rewarding, and it was interesting to learn more about how everything on the farm comes together. Manon is incredibly kind, patient, and easy to talk to. She always took the time to explain what needed to be done, answered our questions, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. She clearly cares deeply about her farm, her animals, and the people who come to help. One of the highlights of our stay was the food. Manon is an excellent cook, and every meal was fresh, delicious, and something we looked forward to after a morning of work. The accommodations were comfortable, and we had plenty of free time in the afternoons to relax, explore the beautiful surroundings, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience for both of us. We learned a lot, met a wonderful host, and made great memories. We are very grateful for Manon's hospitality and hope to visit again someday.

Visiting Manon’s farm was a wonderful experience. In her diligent, kind way she is creating an environment that is welcoming, balanced, communal, and respectful for people and animals alike. The animals are extraordinarily well-cared for and the growing spaces are laid out thoughtfully and knowledgeably. The hands-on work was enjoyable and rewarding (even during this year’s heat wave) and observing the way she has organized her farm was fascinating. I felt well-provisioned as the accommodations were very comfortable, the wi-fi worked well, and the communal meals/breaks were so pleasant. Her knowledge about agriculture and the surrounding areas was much appreciated, as was her willingness to allow me to also help out in the kitchen (my favorite job!). I would happily revisit Manon and Aaregluck Hof.

Lovely farm and beautiful area. The days started early and my tasks included watering, seeding, cleaning, planting, setting up vegetable rows, and weeding. Every day was a bit different and tasks varied depending on needs. Work was until lunch, where after you could have free time to relax and explore. Manon is a hardworking person who loves her farm and you can clearly tell that from the farm and the animals. Manon was generous with food and prepared lovely lunches and dinners and was always generous with snacks. While I valued my time here, I would not recommend this as a first time experience. I feel that first time wwoofers would benefit from additional patience and understanding.

Thank you for your review. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the food, the snacks, and having time to relax and explore the area. It is also worth mentioning that volunteers have the possibility to take two days off each week. 😊 This farm is well suited to people who enjoy practical work and learning by doing. New tasks are first explained and demonstrated. Afterwards, I observe you while you carry them out yourself, provide feedback where needed, and answer any questions. Once you are familiar with a task, I encourage you to carry it out independently. Curiosity and asking questions are always welcome, but a willingness to take responsibility, follow agreed methods, and gradually build confidence in recurring tasks is important.

Our stay with Manon was simply amazing. This was our first time wwoofing, so we were a little bit unsure what we're getting ourselves into - but we left with an experience that we never want to forget! Manon is incredibly kind and took great care of us - she was patient when explainig our farm chores, she cooked incredible meals and made sure we also got to explore the (beautiful!) area around the farm. We started our days early and worked in the garden or in the field - a loooot of watering, also weeding, preparing new flowerbeds, planting trees and so much more - until lunch, which was always really delicious. Afternoons we were usually free to walk around, relax or talk with the other wwoofer there, who quickly became our friend. Then we met up again for a together dinner. We're really thankful for the time we got to spend here, hopefully, we'll be back one day :)

Thank you so much for your kind words! We really appreciate all the effort, enthusiasm, and positive energy you left behind. Your contributions made a real difference. It was unbelievably hot during your stay—day after day of around 35°C and not a single drop of rain! The plants, vegetables, and newly sown seeds were incredibly grateful for all the watering you did. 😊 And yes, please come back! You are always welcome here, and we'd love to see you again, Manon.

My stay with Manon was absolutely wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We usually started our days early, working in the garden and taking care of the animals. My main tasks focused on the plants - mainly weeding, watering, and sowing seeds. After a lovely lunch prepared by Manon, I would have the afternoon and evening free, which I often spent reading or walking in the forest. We would then come together again for another delicious meal and a chat. Manon is a kind and hardworking person who dearly loves her farm.

Dear AdĂ©la, I’m very grateful that you were the second WWOOFer at AareglĂŒck Farm—you truly made a difference here. I had the impression that you especially enjoyed working with the plants, and it’s lovely to see how well the blackberries you planted are doing! Thank you for being part of bringing this farm to life. As you experienced, getting things of, or better said “in”, the ground can take quite a bit of effort, but your contribution really helped move things forward. Wishing you all the best on your journey, and maybe you'll stop by again?

I had an amazing week as Manon’s first WWOOFer. She created a really safe, relaxed, and supportive environment, and I learned a lot from her knowledge of sustainable farming and foraging. I helped with horses, chickens, orchard care, foraging, seed planting and so much more. No two days were the same and the tasks were always flexible. I could choose what I wanted to get involved with and never felt pressured. The atmosphere was easygoing with lots of laughs and she speaks fluent english and german. The food was great, snacks were always available, and the accommodation was very comfortable with my own private bedroom. The farm and surrounding area are beautiful, with plenty of time to explore and enjoy nature. Overall, a really rewarding experience — I would definitely visit again :)
