Da steht Waldpflege an. 3.

Barbara is a very kind, generous and joyful person. She offered me a large and beautiful room. The work we did in the farm was very interesting and ressourcing. The other woofers were great and we had many good times eating together. The beauty of the nature around us was astonishing. I will dream about the mountain while I plan the next woofing holidays!

What a wonderful few days we’ve had, Barbara is a fabulous warm, welcoming and generous host. The tasks were great, if anything we felt we hadn’t done enough! Tasks included gathering hay, transporting coal from the bottom to top of hill for the natural water purification system, cleaning out the gutter on Henry’s house in the woods, mending steps and demolishing the roof of an ‘earth cave’ for transformation into a glass house. Barbara made sure each day we had time to go out in the local area too, and even very generously took us out for a wonderful day on kayaks and canoe. One afternoon we took the donkeys for a walk! The setting is beautiful, the atmosphere very friendly with plenty of opportunity to connect with other Wwoofers, as well as Barbara herself, and Henry from up the hill, the house and land wonderful with fabulous views. A truly special few days for me and my 16 year old son Isaac, thank you so much Barbara x

Thank you to Barbara for creating such an incredible place of community and connection. As a first time WWOOFer, this was truly a dream experience. The work was varied, interesting, and Barbara is happy to connect you with your interests. My tasks included helping build a new chicken coop, raking hay, trimming brambles, or assembling new fences. We often worked just a few hours in the mornings, so complete half days off were standard and the location is prime to hike and explore local nature or even venture towards local touristy attractions if desired. Barbara even has a bike I borrowed to get around. As the farm is nestled perfectly in the Alps, the daily views were stunning. Barbara also graciously took us out to kayak and canoe on a nearby crystal-clear and calm lake which was a surreal experience. Almost all meals daily were shared with other WWOOFers, Barbara or Uwe Henry, or bikepackers passing by for a night. These meals with new friends were a highlight of my time at Lengächerli, and I will treasure the long conversations and connections I made here forever. I regularly ended the days sitting around the table playing the guitar. Advice to future WWOOFers: stay as long as you can, communicate food needs with Barbara and she is happy to pick items up, bring long pants and sleeves for working and bug protection, say good morning to the donkeys, and leave work and electronics behind to embrace the serenity and simplicity of life.

Our stay at Barbara's gave us many funny stories to tell. We worked putting up fences for the donkeys as well as collecting bundles of branches for their winter feed. The work was very manageable, and Barbara was amazingly flexible with the times and giving us instructions. We loved talking to Uwe for what turned out to be hours, as he urged us to take a break and eat swiss chocolate. We even had a tea party with Barbara and Uwe in his hut!! Barbara was a great host even though she had other commitments most week days, but we were ecstatic when she came back. The food was great for us vegetarians, we had a whole fridge stocked upon our arrival! We hope to return for a longer stay next time :) Thank you Barbara and Uwe
