Sustainable ecoturism property with organic gardens, animals, and passion for ecological practices.

We are a rural family from Nayarit that lives and cares for Eco Finca Pachamama, a small natural sanctuary with animals, gardens, and mountains that has become our home and life project. After working more than 20 years in the United States, I felt the call of my land and the fields, returned to Nayarit with my wife and daughter, and purchased land that we transform into a paradise a little more each day.
We live a simple lifestyle close to the earth, where daily work in the fields, caring for water and trees, and community relationships with the local Cora indigenous people are part of our identity. We have animals including ducks, chickens, donkeys, goats, dogs, and a horse. We also maintain organic gardens, vegetable plots, and native trees for biodiversity and regeneration.
Our vision is to create a simple, self-sustainable place where people reconnect with nature, themselves, and the local community. We welcome visitors and volunteers like friends, sharing walks, campfires, farm activities, and weekend retreats - more like visiting friends than traditional tourism. We believe in respect for Pachamama, responsible ecotourism, and cultural exchange as tools for learning together and building a more conscious life.
Our typical day involves a mix of farm work and nature connection. You will help with:
Farm animals: Feeding and caring for ducks, chickens, goats, donkeys, dogs, and our horse. This includes daily feeding, water changes, and basic animal care.
Gardens and vegetables: Maintaining organic gardens and vegetable plots, learning about companion planting, seasonal harvesting, and sustainable food production.
Trails and maintenance: Walking the land, maintaining paths and access to the waterfalls, cleaning senderos (trails).
Construction and repairs: Depending on skills, helping with simple construction, carpentry, metalwork, and masonry to improve facilities and infrastructure.
Community and activities: Sharing campfires, meals, and conversations with visitors. Helping organize weekend trekking, nature connection, and local cultural exchange with the nearby Cora community.
A typical day might start with animal care, continue with garden work or trail maintenance in the morning, followed by lunch together, and afternoons for repairs, construction, or recreation (depending one people's skills) - all while learning about sustainable living and local polyculture in Nayarit.
We welcome WWOOFers with genuine hospitality, treating them like friends rather than workers.
Accommodations: We provide simple, glamping for WWOOFers. Given the rural setting in Eco Finca Pachamama, accommodations reflect the simplicity of farm life - comfortable beds in shared or private spaces depending on availability. The setting is peaceful and close to nature.
Meals: We eat together as a family and community. Meals are prepared with fresh produce from our organic gardens and local ingredients. We typically share:
- Breakfast: Simple morning meal with local fruits, eggs from our chickens, tortillas, and beverages
- Lunch: The main meal of the day, often featuring vegetables, beans, and local proteins
- Dinner: Lighter evening meals, sometimes shared around campfires or in community spaces
We encourage participation in meal preparation as part of the learning experience. Food is abundant and nourishing, reflecting traditional Mexican cuisine and seasonal availability. We are happy to accommodate dietary preferences when possible.
Community: Beyond meals and beds, we provide a welcoming environment where WWOOFers are part of our daily life - joining family conversations, campfires, weekend activities, and cultural exchanges. We create opportunities for genuine connection with the land, the animals, and each other.
Our hobbies and interests: We enjoy cooking traditional Mexican food using fresh ingredients from our garden. We love nature walks, sharing stories around campfires, and organizing weekend hikking focused on nature's local treasures, relaxation, and inner connection. We're passionate about sustainable living, permaculture, and sharing knowledge about the land.
What's nearby to do: Eco Finca Pachamama is surrounded by incredible natural attractions in Nayarit:
Waterfalls: We have two beautiful accessible waterfalls (Cascadas del Arroyo El Chilte) that you can reach by crossing the river during the rainy season - perfect for swimming and enjoying nature.
Hiking: Numerous trails through mountains and countryside offering views of rural Nayarit, encounters with unique flora including cinnamon-scented flowers, and opportunities to explore the biodiversity of the region.
Local culture: Visit the nearby Cora indigenous community to learn about their traditions, crafts, and way of life. Experience authentic cultural exchange and support local communities.
Swimming: Besides the waterfalls, there are natural pools and water areas perfect for cooling off during warm months.
Nature observation: Explore unique flora, bird watching, and photography opportunities throughout the property and surrounding areas. The peaceful, serene environment is ideal for meditation and reconnection with nature.

Eco Finca Pachamama is THE place to come to for an amazing WWOOF experience! I arrived in Tepic, and Israel and Marbella opened their arms and farm to me with love and passion for eco-living. I enjoyed making coffee, taking care of plants, exploring nature nearby, strengthening my Spanish, meeting new friends, and enjoying the animals! Israel and Marbella even took us to the local lake for a day to swim :) Sol, their daughter is so kind and welcoming as well, and a great English-speaker. Please consider staying with them- they are such warm and inviting people to know in this life! Thank you for the hospitality :)

Muchisimas gracias 💛

I had an absolutely brilliant experience at Israel’s farm, so much so that I haven’t left yet !
Couldn’t recommend the farm enough and Israel and M were the best hosts, welcoming me into their home and letting me feel like part of the family from day one.
My Spanish is awful but that didn’t matter too much (Israel and his daughter speak great English and everyone was very patient to understand my broken Spanish!)
Everyday was varied and the atmosphere is one of community and warmth. The project feels like a family effort and work is very fluid.
One day I was egg hunting and planting seeds, the next I was grinding coffee and upgrading the recycling system. My ideas were welcomed and I felt like there was a spirit of building something together, rather than being an outsider. Because of that, it’s best you can take initiative, offer meals to cook and be ready to chip in where needed.
Meals are simple but plentiful and often with fresh produce from the garden. M and L are the most resourceful cooks I’ve ever met and I never went hungry!
Israel was keen to share Mexican culture with us and took us on a beach trip and a hike in our spare time - with the whole family! It’s an experience I’ll never forget — Thankyou!
Enjoy the donkeys, doggos, Sultan the horse and the beautiful waterfalls right on site — I definitely did!
