We are a family-run organic farm in southern Morocco, passionate about sustainable farming and promoting local culture. Our farm, Olecactus, is located in a peaceful rural area where we cultivate olives, prickly pear, pomegranates, and aromatic herbs. We use traditional methods with a focus on environmental sustainability, and we warmly welcome volunteers to help us in our agricultural activities while learning about Moroccan heritage. At Olecactus, volunteers will help with various farm activities, including planting, harvesting, and maintaining our olive trees, prickly pear cactus, and aromatic herbs. Other tasks may include building with natural materials, composting, “We provide our visitors with authentic Moroccan meals made from fresh, locally-grown ingredients. Meals include traditional dishes such as couscous, tagine, and freshly baked bread, all prepared with organic produce from our farm. We also offer seasonal fruits, olives, and freshly made herbal teas. Our goal is to offer a genuine taste of Moroccan culture while maintaining sustainability in everything we do.” In addition to farm activities, we offer plenty of leisure opportunities to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Volunteers can take part in evening walks through the scenic countryside, relax by the campfire, or enjoy stargazing under the clear desert sky. We also encourage visitors to explore Moroccan culture through traditional music, storytelling, and cooking workshops. It’s a great chance to unwind and connect with nature and local traditions.

I had an incredible time with Karim. He was extremely generous and kind, showing me all facets of Moroccan culture. He explained to me his mission for the farm, what life is like and local traditions. I met many of his friends and family who were all very nice. If you want to truly immerse yourself in Moroccan culture, this is a great way to do it.
