Our names are Sybille and Kay and we live on a 1 hectare farm in the south of Estonia. It is surrounded by beautiful nature and lots of peace and quiet. We have a solar system on our property that supplies us with electricity in the summer months. We have our own well that supplies us with water and since last year we have been building a permaculture garden. Our goal is to be able to provide ourselves with vegetables and fruit in the long term. At the same time, we offer people who love nature a place to camp. There is an outdoor kitchen and outdoor showers, as well as a composting toilet. This year our garden project will be supported with a greenhouse, which we want to build partly from old windows. We want to live our life in this place in harmony with nature and only use the resources that we really need. In the long term, an old farmhouse is to be restored to create a meeting place for people who are interested in living together in love and peace and in truly being in relationship with one another and with nature.
Our daily activities consist of gardening and the seasonal work that occurs there, such as planting young plants, watering, keeping wild plants in check and harvesting. The construction of a Benjeshäcke to protect some areas of the beds from the wind can also be integrated into the daily work.
We also look after the entire area, which has some wooded areas that have to be cleared regularly. We prepare firewood from fallen trees.
A sunny day in July begins with watering the vegetable garden. Then we take a tour of the garden and see what can be harvested and do some bed maintenance. We dedicate the rest of the day to a specific project, such as building a greenhouse, putting up a Benjeshecke or repairing the fence.
The WWOOfers are housed in a wooden tent. There is a mattress, bedding, electricity, heating and internet.
We provide the food and prepare one hot meal a day together.
We ourselves live in a 9 m² tiny house.
We use the kitchen, showers and toilet together. Most of our life takes place outside.
We like being in nature and use the surrounding landscape for hiking, cycling and swimming.
There are some exciting nature reserves in the vicinity, such as Lake Ähijerv and the Luhaaso bog. A cold stream flows through the village.
We have bikes to rent on site and the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away.
We also like to organize sauna evenings with hot tubs and campfires with friends and look at the magnificent starry sky.
