I'm Jonathan. Our farm is 11 years old and we have 1000 fruit trees, a greenhouse for vegetables. We produce Cacao and Honey too. We have 2 full time employess, 4 horses, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 4 cows and a mule. We have an .A frame casita with a new queen size bed, a composting toilet and an outdoor shower. A wood fired kitchen is available 70 meters from the A frame. Woofers would help germinate seeds, feed horses, weed greenhouse, harvest produce and general farm organization. Meals will be prepared by our neighbor Nicole at her restaurant a 3 minute walk from the A frame. We have a wonderful spring for swimming and the area is beautiful for walking. We are aslo a 10 minute walk from a wonderful river. Soy Jonathan.

I had the opportunity to spend three weeks at Finca Cerdo Magico, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the first day, I felt welcomed like part of the family. I learned so much — from caring for the animals to working with the land and plants. Jonhatan and the two collaborators were always kind, patient, and supportive, making me feel included and appreciated throughout my stay. The property is large and full of beautiful spots to discover, and the surrounding community is very special. I met loving, genuine people who welcomed me as their own. Spanish is the main language, so having a good level will help you fully enjoy the experience. There is also a river within walking distance where you can swim and cool off on warm days, which makes everything even more magical. Spending time with Jonhatan and his wife Lynn was a gift — they made me feel at home, and Jonhatan even taught me how to ride a horse. This experience helped me rediscover a part of myself I hadn’t felt in a long time. For me, it’s not just a farm, but a truly magical place.

My 2ish week experience at Finca Cerdo Magical was so memorable and not nearly long enough! This farm is a great way to begin understanding the concepts and complexities of permaculture; there’s always something new to learn or do. Jonathan is a super attentive host as well as the workers.I enjoyed spending lots of time with Adolfo and Oscar and days on the horses or at the micro house with Jonathan and his amazing wife Lynn. This is a huge farm and you could definitely have a really lovely experience exploring the property and the surrounding areas with a rented vehicle and eating on the farm. However, arriving during La Navidad allowed me some extra time with the surrounding community; which really helped me understand that this farm is definitely magical but its spirit is kept up by a true dedication to connectivity. A stay at finca cerdo magical is best fit for someone with at a minimum conversational Spanish and/or a serious dedication to learning! Eating at Nicole’s restaurant is one of the best parts of this experience, everyone in town stops by there, you’ll want to get to know them all! Work at the farm is only a few hours a day so I would often walk across the river to spend time with people I’d met there. This is a place to put down your phone, get a little muddy, and sit on the side of the road to listen and talk story. Thank you Jonathan for the opportunity to begin such a grand remembering, and allowing room for much learning! I’ll be back !
