I started to create at this place 3 years ago. I started from scratch, there was only meadows and forest here. So this place might be interesting for you if you want to experience off grid living and see what challenges and rewards it brings. Its calm and relaxing place where we live with respect to mother nature and each other.
I like to show others what i have learned living this way and also learn from others. I love using recycled materials to build and repair stuff.
Most of time we are doing stuff together, working, chilling by fire, going for a walk but there is always option to be more for yourself if thats how you feel.
This year it will be mostly help with building and a bit of gardening, and other smaller tasks. Focus this year will be on building small straw bale house with green roof and clay plaster. Garden is ecological, i follow some of permaculture priniciples. Im not that skilled gardener but im slowly learning.
Usually there is no specific time when to wake up and start working unless work or weather conditions demand it. Everyone helps in the kitchen, with cooking or washing dishes.
Each day somebody is cooking launch, and if you are not so good dont worry, we can help each other. I like to add wild herbs as an addition and i can also show you which ones are edible. Food is either meat, vegetarian or vegan, depending on who is here at specific time.
Sleeping is in tent that i can provide, also mattress and blanket.
Place is at 850m altitude so its a bit colder than in the valley. When its rainy days there is usually not much to do, so its more resting time.
There is outside kitchen, compost toilet and tool shed. Area is surrounded by nature but its not isolated, there are neighbours nearby. Its nice place for some hiking. In free time we can also play some games, instruments, carve with wood, dance, chill by fire and bake bread on fire. I have washing machine that is powered by bicycle.
In autumn we will go forage fruits and chestnuts, and do some drying of it, making jams....
There is solar power for powering phone,... Internet signal is here.
To reach this place you have several option, there is a bus from Ajdovščina to Otlica few times per day. There is a hiking path that takes around 2,5h. I can also come and pick you up in Ajdovščina.
