Organic arabica coffee farm
Indonesia
1. Describe your project, your place, and its inhabitants (including animals):
We are planting the arabica coffee by the seeds so you can join us to plant since the seeds still in the polybag to the land. And we are preparing all the organic fertilizer to support the soil to keep it not only fertile but healthy too. Instead we are planting the plants as the food forest such as banana, cassava, potato, chili, paddy field, and so on.
Our farm beside the hills and the valley. You can do hiking by the hills and forest if you want.
Inside the jungle there are hawk, wild boar, wild chicken and so many monkeys there. and you can feed the chickens and buffalos everyday. Beside that we have many dogs with us especially the border collie dog named Billy 🐶😁
2. List the activities that WWOOFers will participate in and what you want to teach them:
1. Making the planting hole for the coffee
2. Planting the coffee seeds
3. Making the organic fertilizer at our own jungle
4. Feeding the livestock at the farm such as chickens, buffalos, dogs, etc
5. Learning together with us to cook how to make the signature food of Batak Toba ethnic
6. Operating the tractor for the land clearing
7. You can explore the Toba Lake, and the Batak Toba community arround north Tapanuli.
3. How will you feed and house WWOOFers? Please describe your accommodations and plan for meals:
Our accommodations are based in our farm. Its made of woods. There is kitchen and bathroom too. There is spring in the farm so the water gonna be enough for the whole family, worker and wwoofer's.
4. What could a WWOOFer's day look like at your site (time slot for participation in activities, expectations...)?
The wwoofer's can join us to do the activities in the farm with our own workers. We hope that the wwoofer's can learn together with us how to build the organic farm.
5. Play the guide! Talk about your own hobbies (music, cooking, etc.) and those possible around (hiking, swimming, etc.):
Holla its funny to play the guide but ok i'll tell you hahahahaha. my name is diana, i love love love reading books, i love kids, i love to be a farmer. If you do like hiking or exploring the forest i'd love to do that too.

Diana is a lovely person, who will make you feel welcomed in her home directly. Even though our stay was shortened for personal reasons, she was very understanding and made our stay a unique and memorable experience.
Diana and her children all speak English, making it fun to hang out with all of them at their house after the work hours. They have several farms and at the one we stayed at, their main house is further away from the woofer’s hut (which is directly on the farm), but if you don’t mind walking over, it is no issue.
The work mostly consisted of weeding around the coffee plants, which could be tiring under the sun but the regular breaks made it easier and the tasty food made it worth it. The Chili Tofu was my personal favourite :)
We got the possibility to cook native food and join a traditional Batak wedding during our stay, two wonderful experiences!
Overall, we had a lovely time in Indonesia, thank you Diana for everything!

I write the first review here, but I was the second volounteer coming to the farm :)
I stayed here almost 2 weeks, but it was too short, I wish next time I can stay longer ! And thank you so much again for welcoming me, I felt like home at the farm.
There you have an amazing family, with four full of energy and joyful homeschooled kids. They are really curious, and always want to help to plant and do some activities in the garden, even the youngest one (2yo) ! Diana, the mother, is really passionated about the farm, and she knows a lot about organic culture !
It was really interesting for me to be there at the beginning of the farm, to see how to create a durable and organic design with the coffee trees, but also ferns, rice, kaliandra, vegetables... The works to do were mostly clearing the hill with the cangkul (shovel), planting coffee tree, padi (the rice), weeding, preparing soil for the trees, and making some organic fertilizer... I guess there will be plenty of other tasks to do when the coffee trees will grow.
We often worked together with the Indonesian workers, and it was for me a nice opportunity to improve my Bahasa Indonesia.
I highly recommend this place, I had here the opportunity to learn a lot, and share ideas and knowledge about farming and nature !
Terima kasih banyak 🌱
