Family home in a place of abundance and tranquility

Dear travelers, dear wwoofers,
We are a French couple, Noémie and Oussama, living in our beautiful Finca in the south of Ecuador (almost Peru) with our 4 years old son, Tao, our newborn girl, Amaya, and our cats and chicken. We bought this land almost 5 years ago to live a healthy and peaceful life in harmony with our environment and as self-sufficient as possible. We learn new things everyday about the nature around us and about ourselves too.
The climate here (lot of sun and water) allows us to grow everything and we are continuously trying new variety of fruit to bring more diversity in our food forest. This style of life requests sometimes some labor but it is so worth it when you see the results in your plate (yummy!).
We'd love to share this life experience with people interested to live on a more traditional, simple way. This way of life forces you to live in the present moment and requires some adaptation skills. We always have a lot of ideas to improve the place that is about construction and agriculture. This would be mostly the tasks we need help for.
In exchange of your help we can offer you 3 meals a day (mostly vegetarian) and a place with a nice view to sleep in the tent.
We are flexible about how you want to organize your day. Ourselves we like to take our time in the morning to eat some breakfast and drink coffee (from the finca) and start our tasks when we feel we are ready. Often we start around 10 in the morning and finish in the late afternoon. We eat mostly fruits during the day and have the biggest meal of the day in the evening.
We really enjoy receiving travellers from around the world. It brings us so much joy to meet new people, show our beautiful place and share our project of autonomy and abundance with them.
Important informations :
- Life is rich and abundant here, so are the bugs. You'll need some protection against the mosquitos (we wear light clothes but with long sleeves and pants)
- It is better if you use natural soap and shampoo as everything goes in the garden
- We live one hour away from Zumba after a nice ride with the ranchera

Somos una pareja francesa, Noémie y Oussama, viviendo en nuestra hermosa Finca en el sur de Ecuador (casi Perú) con nuestro hijo de 4 años, Tao, nuestra niña recién nacida, Amaya, y nuestros gatos y gallinas. Compramos esta tierra hace casi 5 años para vivir una vida sana y tranquila en armonía con nuestro medio ambiente y lo más autosuficiente posible. Cada día aprendemos cosas nuevas sobre la naturaleza que nos rodea y también sobre nosotros mismos.
El clima aquí (mucho sol y agua) nos permite cultivar de todo y estamos continuamente probando nuevas variedades de fruta para aportar más diversidad a nuestro bosque de alimentos. Este estilo de vida requiere a veces algo de trabajo, pero merece la pena cuando ves los resultados en tu plato (¡qué rico!).
Nos encantaría compartir esta experiencia vital con personas interesadas en vivir de una forma más tradicional y sencilla. Esta forma de vida te obliga a vivir en el momento presente y requiere algunas habilidades de adaptación. Siempre tenemos un montón de ideas para mejorar el lugar que tiene que ver con la construcción y la agricultura. Estas serían sobre todo las tareas para las que necesitamos ayuda.
A cambio de tu ayuda podemos ofrecerte 3 comidas al día (la mayoría vegetarianas) y un lugar con bonitas vistas para dormir en la carpa.
Somos flexibles sobre cómo quieres organizar tu día. A nosotros nos gusta tomarnos nuestro tiempo por la mañana para desayunar y tomar café (de la finca) y empezar nuestras tareas cuando sentimos que estamos listos. A menudo empezamos sobre las 10 de la mañana y terminamos a última hora de la tarde. Comemos sobre todo fruta durante el día y hacemos la comida más copiosa del día por la noche.
Nos encanta recibir a viajeros de todo el mundo. Nos da mucha alegría conocer gente nueva, mostrarles nuestro hermoso lugar y compartir con ellos nuestro proyecto de autonomía y abundancia.
Información importante :
- Aquí la vida es rica y abundante, y los bichos también. Necesitarás protección contra los mosquitos (llevamos ropa ligera pero con mangas largas y pantalones).
- Es mejor si usas jabón y champú natural ya que todo va en el jardín
- Vivimos a una hora de Zumba después de un buen paseo con la ranchera

Thank you guys. I had a great time.
This is a great opportunity to learn about becoming self-sufficient in Ecuador/the tropics. You can especially learn a lot about cacao and coffee trees and how to make chocolate and prepare the coffee beans.
There was a lot of banana harvesting, learning about chickens, and growing all sorts of things in the garden, and I enjoyed keeping the trails clean. Noemie and Oussama are really cool and flexible people.

We spent 2 great weeks with Noémie and Oussama.
They have a finca and try to be as self-sufficient as possible, it's impressive to see everything they do! The work consists of looking after the vegetable garden, the chickens, collecting coffee and cocoa, helping with the cooking, washing up etc., but it can also be something else depending on the needs/envies. They are super chill and flexible as well as being amazing people.
Their 2 children are adorable.
Lodging in a tent (provided by them) under a porch, dry and fed every day. We practically only eat what grows on their land, 100% natural, and drink the coffee they produce.
We learned a lot and had a truly great time. We're sad to leave them, and we recommend them wholeheartedly! See you soon amigos ❤️

El hogar de Noemie, Oussama y el pequeño Tao es maravilloso, lleno de sabiduría sobre las plantas nativas del Ecuador y sobre cómo cuidarlas. Entre las montañas del sur de Loja, ellos se esfuerzan verdaderamente, en muchísimos detalles, hacia una vida sin impacto negativo sobre la Tierra y lo hacen con gran amabilidad y calor. Fuimos acogidos a brazos abiertos y nos sentimos en casa desde el primer momento. Mil mil gracias chicos!! Esperamos volverles a ver pronto 🫶🏻

This is a beautiful family with a lot of knowledge to share! I really enjoyed living on their farm with them and interacting with them and every day. I learned so much about so many plants that I hadn’t even heard of before coming to Ecuador. This is a very special and unique plant experience for anyone who wants connection rural Ecuadorian culture to be a part of their experience while working as a wwoof volunteer. I’m so glad I decided to spend time here and I’d recommend it to everyone!

Le projet de vie basée sur l'auto-suffisance alimentaire avec une finca à l'origine pleine de café et cacao et finalement transformée en idéal pour les amoureux de la nature et des plantes médicinales. Un équilibre harmonieux du couple enchante les journées loin de tout, ponctué de leur fils plein de vie, ils m'ont accueilli comme un membre à part entière de la famille. Pour couronner le tout une grande variété culinaire végétarienne et souvent sans gluten ! Si vous aimez le calme loin de tout je recommande chaudement !!

Nous avons passé une petite semaine chez Noémie, Oussama et leur adorable Tao ! Nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis à l'aise dans leur famille, au milieu d'une forêt verger magnifique. Nous avons pu aider à diverses tâches : amélioration du campement des Wwoofers, cueillette du cacao et du café, désherbage des ananas... Nous retiendrons beaucoup de bons moments, notamment des échanges forts et qui nous ont beaucoup questionnés sur nos modes de vie et ce que nous souhaitons vivre à notre retour en France. Merci encore pour tous ces moments passés ensemble !
