La ferme, qui s’étend sur 5 hectares, est affiliée à une association agricole dédiée à la production biologique. Après une année d’études en agriculture à l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop et une formation en infographie au Centre culturel français de Dakar, nous avons, en 2023, initié un partenariat avec Vitalism Civic Innovation. Ce projet vise à transformer notre terre familiale en une association de développement régional. Nous cultivons une diversité de fruits exotiques, tels que l’anacardier (acajou / noix de cajou), le carosello, la banane, la papaye, le madd, le « tool », le « houl », la mangue, l’orange, la pastèque et la noix de coco. Nous pratiquons également l’apiculture et produisons diverses cultures biologiques : riz, mil, maïs, tomates, pommes de terre, ignames, avocats, oignons, poivrons, sorgho, piments et concombres. Notre ferme n’utilise que des engrais naturels et élève des chèvres, des poulets, des vaches et des moutons. Nous aspirons à faire de la ferme un pôle éducatif centré sur la formation aux ressources éducatives libres, promouvant la transition vers l’agroécologie. L’innovation de nos partenariats réside dans l’utilisation de ressources, de plateformes et de réseaux en libre accès pour assurer un apprentissage et un échange continus, afin d’amplifier les objectifs du WWOOFing : A) La durabilité commence par la résilience communautaire. We aim to make the farm an educational hub focused on training in open educational resources, promoting the transition to agroecology. The innovation in our partnerships lies in using open-access materials, platforms, and networks to ensure continuous learning and exchange, with the goal of amplifying WWOOFing’s objectives: A) Sustainability begins with community resilience. We are living through political, environmental, and economic upheavals. What can we do? In the short term, our ambitions include installing solar panels and developing integrated aquaculture for consumption and for producing organic fertilizers.
