Eugenijus, previously a city dweller, bought a more than 100-year-old school building and moved to the countryside, where he is trying to bring back a new life for the place, which was renamed to 'Būro kiemas' and the building - 'Villa Gladiole'. The area is surrounded by old trees, and the previous school stadium was transformed into ecologically cultivated land.
For the moment, here is a growing herd of skudde breed sheep, 6 hens and a rooster, and a sweetheart German shepherd - Gilda.
It would be great to share knowledge and experience in the mentioned activities, but Eugenijus comes from an art and documentary photography background, where he has gathered baggage.
The living quarters are 95% completed (the entrance with the stairway is a work in progress). There is a single room with two double sofas and one room with a single two-person sofa for guests, or there is plenty of room for a camper. The villa has a fully functional shared kitchen and a bathroom.
Depending on the season, food will be from the garden and all the variations that can be made. Milk is bought from a local farmer. Whatever is needed additionally, from a grocery shop.
Breakfast for guests is self-service.
Lunch would be prepared together.
Dinner is optional to one's needs since Eugenijus is having just a few nibbles in the evening, nothing big. But guests are welcome to prepare anything more what one is accustomed to.
In the kitchen, Eugenijus is still learning to create more sophisticated dishes, but generally, guests are not complaining. Anyone who could teach a bit of better cooking would be much appreciated.
Evening time is free, but there is a possibility for various improvisations. Talks, books, learning...
There are quite beautiful surroundings for a hike, so guests can enjoy them. There is an old bike (only one) for a tour around.
Eugenijus's whole life is turning around art, with a bigger focus on documentary photography and DIY / self-sufficiency philosophy, so this field requires continuous updates in the renovation process.
Music taste is very broad, from jazz, heavy metal, and punk rock to classical, drum'n'base, various retro genres (up to mid-90s), underground, old-school rap and hip-hop, and reggae.
R&B, techno, and modern popular music are better left at a distance unreachable for ears.
