The farm cradled in the San Luis valley of Monteverde cloud forest has been growing coffee for over 80 years. It grows some of Costa Rica finest coffee, but aim to do more than grow great coffee, Santuario El-Jardin is a demonstration project wich restore and enhance ecological balance through art, education and Biodynamic agriculture. Our coffee farm is a jewel set in the cloud forest where we are restoring the forest and have planted thousands of trees reclaiming pasture and recreating home for a multitude of native and medicinal plants, trees and forest animals. since 2012 we started working with Biodynamic methods and preparations. Organic methods: organic and Biodynamic methods. Biodynamic preparations. moon calendar compost, liquid fertilizers, mountain micro organism erosion control water management Certifications: member of the MAOPAC organization. Current projects: coffee farm cacao plantation avocado and citrus orchard greenhouse vegetables garden Internet access available

I loved my time at the finca and I highly recommend if you want to be immersed in the natural beauty of Costa Rica.! The work was a fair 5 hour day (you’ll get fit quickly here) and afterwards we would swim in the river, hike the surrounding trails, and spending time making food fresh from the garden. Noam was a generous and kind host and taught me biodynamic farming and tranquillo way of life. Pura Vida! 😁

Finca El Jardin is a truly special place. I felt immediately welcomed, as if I was a familiar friend when first arriving at the farm. The culture of the farm is quite lovely, where connection through food and conversation happens very naturally. The people I had the priviledge of meeting there were warm, inspiring, motivated, and passionate. I had many interesting conversations, beautiful meals, and delicious cups of coffee while volunteering at the finca. The work is interesting, dynamic, and very reasonable. The land the coffee farm itself resides on is abundant with life and beauty, there is so much to learn about. My time on the finca has had a great impact on me. I will not soon forget Noam's generosity and friendship, as well as Casey's, Hannah's and Maximo's. I would recommend volunteering here to anyone, especially woman who are traveling alone. It is a safe, warm, and inviting space. Thank you for everything Finca el Jardin! Pura vida <3

Noam’s farm is a very special place I will never forget and that I feel immensely grateful to have spent a month at. The cozy mud house, the vibes around the incredible property, the breathtaking views at the river and all the amazing people around are just a few of the key elements that have made my stay at Finca el Jardin so special. Finca el Jardin is truly a magical place, I am so grateful for my time there. In the 6 weeks I spent there I fell in love with the land, met some incredible folk, and learned so much! Noam is a wonderful host, the work was light and engaging and the accommodations were more than accommodating. I felt right at home there and already miss it! I especially miss Chuleta 🐷

Noam's farm was my first wwoofing experience, and it ended up being two of the best months of my life. When I first arrived I wasn't quite sure what I had gotten myself into, as the accommodations were much more "rustic" than anywhere I had previously stayed for an extended period. Four days later I loved it more than my own house. The property has all of the comforts you could need, and I came to consider its lack of separation between "inside" and "outside" one of the most positive aspects of my stay. It feels far more natural living within nature than separated from it. And it helps that the weather is always perfect. Noam has created a system that feels like an incredibly fair exchange between host and volunteer. At no point did I ever feel overworked, and I always felt taken care of. As for the work itself, I missed the end of the coffee harvest by a week, but the more general farm labor was always varied enough to never be boring or repetitive. Noam was also an incredible source of information, and the BioDynamics system he follows is fascinating. I think I witnessed some real magic during my stay. The biggest highlight of Finca El Jardin is definitely the people there. The full-time workers Edward and Maximo are two of the coolest guys I've met, and working with them was always a joy (and incredibly entertaining). Noam and his family were incredibly kind and gracious hosts, and always made me feel at home. I was beginning to plan my return trip before I'd even left.
