Nos encontramos a 90 minutos en auto de Bogotá, sobre el camino real Zipacón y el Ocaso, colindando con el Río Apulo. Hace 8 años decidimos venir a vivir en la montaña, sembrar nuestro alimento, respirar profundo y activar la vida consciente, cuidamos las semillas nativas, protegemos las abejas del territorio 6 especies, cultivamos la tierra, ahora queremos compartir aprendizajes y recibir ayuda. Son muchas las tareas en un bosque comestible, cuidamos un micro lote de café especial de diferentes variedades Arábigas, Borbón, Caturra, Geisha, con sus procesos artesanales y orgánicos. Cada día una experiencia y aventura, diferentes. Estamos emocionados por los nuevos aprendizajes, ¡bienvenidos! Métodos Orgánicos: - Permacultura y agroecología Certificaciones: - Coexistimos con la naturaleza y todos sus habitantes, aplicamos abonos de la misma tierra y procuramos respetar los procesos naturales, no hacemos control biológico, ni fumigamos. Proyectos Actuales: - Aprender idiomas y culturas - Mantenimiento de bosque comestible - Semilleros, siembras, podas, abonos - Procesos ruta del café - Construcción de carpintería Estamos trabajando en establecer una escuela informal para niños locales, donde puedan venir unas horas a la semana y aprender de nuestros voluntarios internacionales. De esa manera, esperamos aumentar el nivel de intercambio de conocimiento, también para fortalecer a nuestra comunidad. Alojamiento: - Tenemos una pequeña tiny house donde duerme cómodamente 1 persona, o una pareja que se pueda ajustar al espacio pequeño. Además hay un cuarto privado con cama y escritorio. Si en ocasiones hay más gente también tenemos una carpa bajo techo sobre piso de cemento. - Buen acceso al Internet - Agua potable - Cocina al aire libre, con estufa de gas y estufa-horno de leña - Tenemos un kiosko al aire libre donde compartimos comidas y actividades Comida: - Nos alimentamos lo más que podamos con alimentos, frutas, y vegetales del bosque comestible que tenemos. Complementamos según lo necesario con alimentos del mercado. Juntos arreglamos el desayuno, el almuerzo y la cena. Compartimos la labor de preparar los alimentos. Religión: - Aquí no practicamos ninguna religión en particular. Somos de mente y corazón abierto ¡tolerancia y amor! Reglas: - No fumar, no drogas, no exceso de alcohol. Estadía mínima de 8 días.

Pasé mis últimos días en Colombia en La Chagra y me gusto mucho :) El lugar está increíble y Aura esta acogedora y con muy buena energía ! Siempre tiene muchas ideas ! Muchas gracias por este tiempo en la finca :)

No puedo les agradecer lo suficiente a Aura y los otros voluntarios por una semana tan linda y tan chévere en la Chagra! La Chagra es un lugar muy especial donde tuve la oportunidad y la suerte de probar tantas nuevas comidas (casi todas cultivadas en la Chagra), conectar con la naturaleza y el río bellísimo, aprender mucho sobre la cultura colombiana y el proceso del café y el cultivo de otros alimentos de la finca. Tuve la oportunidad de ir a un evento pro Palestina en Cachipay y participar en danzas por paz y conocer unos amigos de Aura y otro voluntario Diego, quien eran tan encantadores y acogedores como Aura y los otros voluntarios. Mi habitación fue cómodo y cocinamos todo juntos en la cocina al aire libre. Todas las tareas fueron muy razonables y tenía tiempo para disfrutar del río. Yo recomendaría la Chagra sin duda a todos que buscan una experiencia genuina y gratificante. Ojalá que pueda volver algún día! :) I cannot say thank you enough to Aura and the other volunteers for such a wonderful week at la Chagra. La Chagra is a very special place. I had the opportunity to try lots of new foods from the farm, connect with nature and learn lots about Colombian culture and the process of making coffee. My bedroom was comfortable and we cooked all together in the open air kitchen. All of the tasks were very reasonable and I had plenty of free time to enjoy the river. I would absolutely recommend La Chagra to anyone seeking a genuine and fulfilling experience! :)

My time with the family was wonderful! When I arrived, they made sure someone was there to receive me, because they only came home later that day, but it all worked out great. The 3 dogs and the cat really stole my heart and the 7 year old (boy felt like a little brother to me at the end of my stay. I was working a few hours a day (up to 4 hours) but when the kid didnt have school, my main task was to play stuff with him and teach him german. We were cooking together a lot in the outside kitchen. An if you wanted to eat any fruit they had in the finca (oranges, mangos, lemons, etc) they would let you go grab it and they made sure i got to try lots of colombian dishes. Meine Zeit mit der Familie war wundervoll. Als ich ankam, wurde sich darum gekümmert, dass jemand da ist der mich empfängt, weil die Familia erst später am selben Tag wiederkam und es hat alles super funktioniert. Die 3 Hunde und die Katze haben mein Herz gestohlen und der 7 jährige Sohn fühlte sich am Ende wie ein kleiner Bruder für mich an. Ich habe einige Stunden am Tag (bis zu 4 Stunden) gearbeitet, aber wenn der Junge keine Schule hatte, war meine Hauptaufgabe mit ihm zu spielen und ihm Deutsch beizubringen. Wir haben viel zusammen in der Freiluftküche gekocht. Und wenn man irgendwelche Früchte, die es auf der Finca gibt, essen wollte, durfte man sie sich nehmen. Außerdem wurde darauf geachtet, dass ich möglichst viele kolumbianische Gerichte probiere.

My experience at "La Chagra" overpassed my expectations. Not only was I able to learn about coffee, discover Colombian culture and food, and developped my Spanish. But I also really connected with Aura, her family and the other volunteers. Aura is very welcoming and always tries to make you comfortable through activities, personal development or mediation. Thanks a lot for your warm welcome Aura, and see you soon ---- Mi experiencia en "La Chagra" superó mis expectativas. Pude aprender sobre el café, descubrir la cultura y la comida colombiana y mejorar mi español. También créé relaciones con Aura, su familia y los outros voluntarios. Mi experiencia en La Chagra fue maravillosa. Quiero agradecer a Aura y su familia por recibirme en su hermosa finca. La Chagra es un espacio súper mágico y lleno de naturaleza, a un par de minutos encuentras el río el cual es perfecto para una bonita meditación. Aprendí mucho acerca del proceso del café desde la cosecha hasta la elección de los mejores granos. Cada mañana recolectábamos naranjas, era muy divertido subir a los árboles y escoger las mejores. Conocí diferentes frutas y vegetales los cuales utilizábamos en nuestro desayuno y almuerzo. Aura tiene muchísimo conocimiento, amor y respeto hacia las plantas. Aprendimos a sembrar, cosechar y cocinar yuca, también aprendimos a cocinar balu, guatila, plátano, etcétera. Una experiencia muy bonita y llena de conocimientos. <3

I do not recommend Aura's farm. My stay with her was much shorter than anticipated. I was supposed to stay for 12 days and I left within 24 hours of my arrival. She seems to have much longer days than what I'm used to Wwoofing in the US (we had agreed on a 7am-5pm schedule 5 days a week). I don't think it would've been a problem; I was willing to give it a shot. However, Aura showed little to no warmth. I felt like a servant the little time I spent there. Most everything was separated: I stayed in a cabin outside, which was fine, but she'd give me a task and go in her house in which I was never invited; I used an outside bathroom I thought was filthy (but I'm sure she had a cleaner one in her house), and the outside kitchen was just for me, again when I'm sure she had another one in her house. It felt really awkward. I was looking for a cultural exchange and practice my Spanish, but it looked like I was going to be some kind of servant. I think most would be better off finding another farm. Oh, and she charged me about USD 3.5/day for meals and had no shame asking me to pay the total amount for the 12 days I was supposed to be there when I spent about 24 hours on her farm. Good luck!
