Harmony Farm is for those who want to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what’s real. If you value simplicity, nature, self-reliance, and carrying your own weight, you’ll feel at home here. We’re nestled two miles northwest of Zamora, Ecuador, beside Podocarpus National Park. The land hums with birdsong, waterfalls, and a clear river below—perfect for a refreshing dip after a day’s work. Accommodation Volunteers stay in a private off-grid cabin 100 meters above the main house. It’s simple, quiet, and ideal for those who enjoy solitude and independence. Inside: a double bed, gas stove, spring water, and an outdoor shower. A clean composting outhouse is nearby. No electricity in the cabin; Wi-Fi is available at the main house, a short walk away. You’ll live independently, with me and my dog Toki nearby. Space and privacy are yours unless you seek company. Work Expectations Work here is steady, physical, and meaningful. Expect around two to four hours of work on weekdays, starting 8–9 AM depending on the day’s tasks. Comfort on steep paths and with lifting materials is necessary. Tasks include: • Trail maintenance • Gardening and planting • Reforestation • Carrying materials • Creative projects to enhance the land’s natural beauty If hands-on work, staying fit, and seeing clear progress excite you, you’ll thrive here. Daily Rhythm After work, rest, reset, and enjoy our mountain-fed cold plunge or jacuzzi under the stars. The river below is clear, cold, and perfect for swimming. Self-Sufficiency in Progress We’re building toward a life that can sustain itself. Chickens, a natural earth fish pond, and an abundance of fruit and vegetables are on the horizon. Every day, we practice resourcefulness, reduce waste, and live lightly on the land. Purpose Beyond the Farm Harmony Farm is rooted in the belief that life is best lived with intention and responsibility. We’re creating a space where humans can reconnect to themselves, each other, and the earth. While this is just one small piece, the hope is that the work done here—whether tending the land, learning, or building community—contributes to a larger vision of positive, meaningful impact for humanity. Who This Place Is For Harmony Farm is for those who: • Prefer quiet over noise • Are independent, respectful, and self-motivated • Value honesty, clear communication, and accountability • Seek a deeper connection to nature and themselves • Want to be part of a small, deliberate effort to live and act with purpose If you’re chasing parties, drama, or comfort-heavy ease, this isn’t the place for you. If this calls to you, you’ll feel at home here. — Nicholas

Our stay with Nicolas was wonderful. Surrounded by nature. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay longer because we're continuing our journey. We wish Nicolas all the best with his chocolate project. Best regards, Douwe and Sissy

The farm is a very beautiful and calm place with a rich variety in birds, plants and butterflies. Nicholas was very kind and always open for an interesting conversation. I liked the hard work (hauling up materials and painting parts of the house) and the fact that Nicholas let me choose freely when to start. Apart from working, you'll be able to get a lot closer to nature by adapting to the sunlight (no electricity at the cabin) and letting yourself get immersed in all the nature sounds around you. I stayed for ca. 10 days and would recommend everyone to stay at least two weeks to get used to the new rhythm and explore the surroundings. Thank you Nicholas and Finca Armonía for everything!

The land that Nick has in Ecuador is a really special place, full of life and energy, myself and my friend stayed here for 2 weeks and loved the whole experience. The work is hard but encourages meditation, connection with the mind and body, and appreciation of nature. Nick is a very kind and generous host, he has a positive point of view and we are both very glad to have met him, he made us feel welcome and we were very grateful to have our own space with the separate cabin too! The lack of electricity and hot water in the cabin took a little getting used to but we quickly adapted to live closer to our own energy and felt better for having taken time away from our devices. Zamora is a beautiful town with friendly locals and beautiful hikes to see, I would recommend anyone spend time at Harmonia Farm and in Zamora! Thank you Nick, Manuel, and Toki!

What Nick has here is very special. I stayed on the farm for three weeks and worked on building the bathroom, mostly. Nick was kind, generous, and respectful throughout. This is a mostly solitary experience, as at the moment Nick is the only other person living on the farm, while Manuel works Monday-Friday. I had a very positive and meditative experience at Finca Armonia, and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a unique and immersive experience in the area.

I stayed here for three weeks and I loved it. The living situation is very comfortable and private. The plants, birds/monkeys, and bugs there are incredible. The work was extremely fair and I could choose when I wanted to work so I felt like I could really create my own life there. The town is also only a 45 ish minute walk or a quick taxi ride so you can get some immersion and good food when you want. I felt so good living and working here and Nicholas made me feel very comfortable here. Thank you so much for this experience :)
