We are now looking for extra help in November 2025 - March 2026 its really good change to try something new and see something new we are in the north of Iceland with really beautiful landscape and few kilometres away from the farm is a really nice natural hotpot! We are six in the family, parents and 4 grown up kids, that live at the farm and not and some grandchildren. we have 31 milking cows (no robot),we have an old cowhouse and the cows are in a stall. We are not 100% organically certified farm. We need help with the daily work like milking and feeding the cows and cleaning. and some more extra farm work someday that have to do. the cows are inside over the winter and until the grass will start to grow and the weather get warmer and they can stay outside over the day that is around June beginning that they go outside and until around August/September we start to have them inside again because its so cold over the winter in Iceland and not good for the milking cows to stay outside then. Organic methods: we are looking for wwoofers that could help us with the milking feeding and cleaning and taking care of the cows with us. the wwoofers will never work alone. you dont have to experience of farmwork you only have to be interested to learn and help :)  Certifications: .. Current projects: milking and feeding the cows and always some more extra farm work someday that have to do. and sometimes some house work. Internet access available We eat a lot of meat from our animals in almost every meal so it would be best if the woofer also eat meat 🥩 😊

Thank you for these two months here, I had a wonderful time with you. I really enjoyed working with Stefán, Vackee and Ingibjord. It was a lot of work, but I learned a lot about farm life and cows. I will always remember the many good times we had, especially all the jokes about Isabel. Thank you Guðrun for your hospitality and kindness every day, thank you for introducing me to Icelandic culinary specialities. Even if I won't be tasting most of these dishes again. These two months have been very rewarding and enjoyable. I highly recommend this farm. If you like to work and enjoy working with animals, this farm is for you. The work can be exhausting at times, but it's very enjoyable and you get to work with wonderful people. Tanguy ❤️

I volunteered with this family for a shorter period than originally planned due to an unfortunate accident ,I slipped on ice and injured my back. It was a minor setback, mainly because I am not accustomed to snow and icy conditions, as I come from a very warm country. Thankfully, I recovered well. And they were very nice about me having to leave early due to that. The work itself was genuinely enjoyable. You are never expected to work alone, and whenever questions arise, the family is always kind, patient, and happy to help. They are truly welcoming and supportive. Overall, it is an amazing family with lovely values, and the children are absolutely wonderful very sweet and adorable. It was a pleasure to spend time with them, and I am grateful for the experience.

I would NOT recommend coming to this farm. I unfortunately had a family emergency that was urgent, I was questioned if I was lying about my dying family member. Then they proceeded to try to convince me to stay and “tell the truth or it will eat you up inside” which was totally inappropriate and insensitive. On top of all of that the housing accommodation is unsafe and extremely unhygienic. Which is why they believed I was “making up” my family members medical emergency. I was staying in a house by my self, there was a very sweet kitten but she had been peeing near my bed due to the state of the house and her liter box not being cleaned properly. That on top of all the other smells from left out food and huge garbage bags filled to the brim. I picked this farm because I was very excited to work with cows and due to the reviews about the family being nice. I will say they were kind when they were not trying to convince me to stay working for them after I came to them in tears about my family member. But personally I felt unsafe, because when I was first picked up I was told “please don’t run away”. This was a terrible experience so I felt a review was necessary. But I hope maybe they change something’s about the way they host volunteers because this could be a good experience. It’s very unfortunate that it is not.

Fantastic family and experience. From the moment I arrived they were very welcoming and kind. I learned a lot about dairy farming, sheep farming, and Icelandic farm practices / culture. I’m very happy to have spent a few weeks here. As long as you arrive prepared to work and learn you’ll have a positive experience :)

Hey Anna and big family, there went a few months since I was with you at Minni Acrar. Thanks for the interesting and welcoming time with you and your animals. I am glad having had these unique insights in your beautiful country and farming life style. Although I would not recommend your farm to people with hearing devices or vegetarians by the way, we all made it work somehow ;-). Thanks a lot for being this open to my special needs! I do love and wear my iceland hat a lot! Big hugs and warm greetings to everyone man or animal, especially Mama Muh :-D.

We spent almost 1 month at the farm in march. And all in all we had a great experience. In the beginning we really had to get used to the farm life and the work. We had three shifts per day which was a lot of work. But it needs to be done, and this is how you can experience real farm life, which was very nice. With time we also learned how everything worked and were able to do things on our own. And the work was often very funny with the family. Everyday we ate traditional homemade meals for lunch which were very delicious. It is difficult to do things on your own between the shifts because you can’t really get around without a car. But the family took us to different attractions and we could ask if they could drive us somewhere. We often took a walk up the hill where we could have a great view over this extraordinary landscapes. Overall we had a great time at the farm. We are very happy about the new experience with such nice people, which made saying goodbye a bit difficult. Thank you so much! Elena and Luise
