Family farm
Iceland
Gay couple in their 50 very open minded, well travelled and we welcome everybody! We enjoy to meet different people from different countries worldwide. We live in a sheep farm not far from Djúpivogur village with our border collie dog Prada and cat Miezekatze. We provide normal food, so if you can’t eat it, we can’t host you.
You will live in Icelandic farm getting to know everyday reality from the first hands. You will be able to share and exchange the experience from your own country, not only teaching us something, but learning yourself as well. Not only the language, but the culture, way of living, working and enjoying everyday life not in Icelandic, but international way. We are a gay couple who have travelled to around 223 countries, so we are at least familiar and open to mostly everyone from every country in the world.
Organic methods: Livestock manure used on grass fields and potato garder
Certifications: https://ici.radio-canada.ca/premiere/emissions/style-libre/segments/chronique/95024/woofing-voyage-ferme-travailler-valises
Current projects: Cutting lawn, fixing fences, wood work, making hey, tractor 🚜 driving. May is lamming season while September-October is sheep herting season, so it´s perfect for hyper-active people and this is when we need most help (3 p. max.) !!! You have to be able to drive a standard car 🚘 , cook regular food and be tiny as your mother will be not working here with you! You need to be able to manage basics alone after you have been teached how to do the things i. e. daily feeding, as we will be not all the time around. A big plus if you have similar experience and can drive tractor. We prefer one person or couple who is independent with some brain and don’t need to be told every time what to do, who is responsible and not afraid to be alone (with Prada 🐕 and 🐈 Miezekatze and sheep 🐑 thou) in remote conditions. Once you are done with your daily tasks here, you are free to do whatever.
PLEASE no lazy unmotivated people, gamers or active addicts 🙏 Decent review is a MUST.
Minimum 2 weeks, maximum 2 months (superheroes only 🤣).

Internet access is perfect 🤩

I stayed here for a month and had a breathtaking experience. From feeding the sheeps and witnessing the birth of new lambs to collecting eggs from the chicken coop, something i wouldn’t have experience back in my country.
My stay was short and sweet, both Ugnius and Gautur had been nothing but welcoming and making me feel at home. Ugnius is an amazing cook and both possess immense knowledge and experience whom are not afraid to share. He loves to share his passion for spicy food and also delicious cuisines from his home town, Lithuania 🇱🇹.
The work i’ve done over my month here includes feeding the sheeps twice a day, morning and evening. Whilst checking up on the chickens, letting them out and collecting eggs. Afterwards i would be fixing the roof or join Gautur out in the fields and drive the tractor 🚜 which can range from the vast projects he has lined up, i helped to spread fertiliser across the fields using the tractor and we would also release the newborn lambs out to the wild to roam free. Besides that i’ve also used the pressure washer to clean out the barn for the sheeps in the winter.
If you enjoy nature and require a break from your bustling life, this would be the perfect place for you. Nearing the end of my stay i helped with some gardening work and did i mention they have 2 new kittens?? Dolce and Gabbana are the cutest as well as Prada who will accompany u so u wouldn’t feel lonely at all.
Thank you for this amazing time, take care and stay healthy.

I was very warmly welcomed in Hamarssel by Ugnius and Gautur (and Prada)
the place is absolutely sublime, with a breathtaking landscape..
Ugnius is a great cook who handles sarcasm and humor to perfection, Gautur is a quiet force, helpful and a good listener.
They are also both big travelers, so if you have any questions about the world. These two handsome guys will be there to guide you.
I highly recommend.
Much love

I stayed for a week with Ugnius and Gautur to help them with sheep collecting end of September. I felt very welcome in their beautiful and charming home. The house is full of memories and souvenirs from all the countries that they visited and creates a real “home” feeling :) The hosts are very friendly with good humor and very cultural and open minded. I helped with sheep collecting in the mountains which is pretty physical, you need a good condition and proper outfit, but the views are totally worth it. After collecting the sheep there was always delicious food waiting, meat from the farm or the potatoes that we harvested. I want to thank you guys so much for all the hospitality and opening your arms for me. I would highly recommend this farm :) kind regards, Patrice

I stayed at Gaudur and Ugnius' place during 2 weeks with my girlfriend Marlene. We had a really good time there, having a room in their house and a place there.
We were feeding the sheep morning and evening, and from day to day doing a little thing more with chicken, the home, or the sheep. It was really nice, also we could get our own organisation as long as we did what needed to be done, and so we planned our time schedule which was really practical and enjoyable.
Ugnius gave us some good advices about where to go : the black sand beach, next to the glacier, and closed to the house to some waterfalls, very nice !
And of course we should talk about Prada, the dog, a very friendly dog who likes to go out with you for a long walk or a short jogging :)
We also discovereda bit of the sheep work and the life with a farm like this one.
Ugnius also gave us the chance to eat food often eaten in Iceland, and in his home country (Lituania) and to taste some of his meal style, a mix from all the countries he visited :p
Thank you to them both, and if you can go there, you will be able to enjoy beeing with them. :) <3
