I absolutely loved my time on Veronikas Farm! Thank you Veronika for being so kind and caring. We got to learn so much about farming and are amazing Slovenian food everyday. I’m really thankful that we also got days off where we were able to explore Slovenias beautiful nature. I loved spending two intense but amazing weeks on this farm and can recommend staying with Veronika to everyone. I really hope that I can come back one day and harvest some more turnips :)

I had such a wonderful week with Veronika and another WWOOFer on my first ever WWOOF! Thank you for having me Veronika, for taking me in and healing my voice when I arrived without one, for putting a wholesome and hearty meal in front of us WWOOFers literally the minute we stepped through the door, and for leading by example what it means to live a good life. You’re the best WWOOF mum ever!

I had a beautiful experience in Veronika's farm. It has been of pleasure to be immersed in the daily life of Veronika who is passionated about her job. During m'y stay, I picked small tomatoes, turnips and cabbages. I also cleaned and peeled several kilos of onions and garlic with the help of Veronika and her friends.

I was with Veronika for a little more than a week and she was so kind to let me bring a friend with me. She welcomed us very warmly. She introduced us to Bosnian Food and how to prepare it, which was very good! Our work was peeling onions/ garlic, cleaning the kitchen, preparing food + washing dishes, harvesting cabbage/ beans and making Sauerkraut. There were no specific working times and when we looked tired she gave us time to relax. We worked a lot on some days and therefore we were free on other days. Thank you again for driving us to Piran, Veronika! Veronika is also happy to give you some nearby recommendations for half day trips. She treated us like her children, for example we could be part of a family party. Being treated like her children also means that you need to get along with her sometimes very direct and stubborn kind of way. Then again she can be the nicest person ever and she is always very caring! The Accommodation was in the top part of a shed kind of building outside her house. Therefore it can get cold at night at this time of year. I can recommend the hot water bottle which Veronika will happily lend you. Sometimes we felt uncomfortable, because of how she handled food in a unhygienic way. Also the place where we slept and the blankets could have been cleaner. While we stayed, we shared the room with another wwoofer. We got along very well. We sometimes got different tasks, sometimes based on our gender. Thank you Veronika for all! :)

I had an amazing time with Veronika! I was warmly welcomed and looked after throughout my stay. The farm was a very peaceful place in the middle of beautiful countryside. The jobs were varied and rewarding and I had plenty of time for myself to explore the area. As a volunteer I felt more like I was on holiday! Veronika is a great cook and I enjoyed learning about new foods. Thank you, Veronika for hosting me with such kindness and such a positive attitude - you have a beautiful farm and family!

I had a wonderful time with Veronika on her farm for my first WWOOFing experience. She welcomed me very warmly, picked me up from the bus station, and even took us WWOOFers and internship students on a trip to a hill near the town – and once even to the seaside! She truly wants you to feel welcome, to get the sleep and food you need to stay strong for the work, and to see a bit of Slovenia. Veronika herself is incredibly hard-working, and I have a lot of respect for the energy she brings to each day – working and still caring for her WWOOFers with great attention. I also got to know her children and grandchildren, which was a great pleasure. I’ll miss the whole family. The experience is definitely centered around the work. In July, I mainly worked in the greenhouse (a really lovely place!) and in the fields: sowing lettuce and cabbage, repotting plants into bigger pots, watering, gardening in the small garden, weeding, and fertilizing the cabbage. I'm very thankful for the time I spent with you, Veronika – for the work, and for getting to know you and your family. I wish you all the best!
