Hello, I’m from Takawiri Village, located on the serene shores of Lake Victoria. At our Farm, we practice organic farming, embracing traditional and natural methods without the use of chemicals. This approach not only respects our cultural heritage but also ensures the health of our community and environment.
Our farm was established in 2019 Currently, we are working to expand and install fencing to protect our crops from animals, and set up a solar-powered water pump with tanks and pipes to irrigate directly from the lake.
Additionally, we’ve launched a feeding program for kids on the island. Many children here face challenging circumstances, including losing parents at younger ages remaining orphans while so young without a future putting them into a lot of life risk. I grew up as a total orphan, I understand their struggles and want to offer hope through the nourishment provided by our farm.

Takawiri is a gem of an island known for its hospitality and tranquility , its name means "peaceful" in the local Suba language. Volunteering here is not just about work; it’s about immersing yourself in a vibrant culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and rewarding experiences.

You can watch the sunrise and sunset over the lake and enjoy nights filled with bright stars and a glowing moon.During free days we you can have a boat ride around the island and do fishing.

Grant writing: Help us raise funds for farm expansion and community projects.
Teaching: Share basic computer literacy skills with children and the community.
Construction: Assist in building simple, eco-friendly housing for volunteers and farm use.
