Holy Lake Farm is located near Lake Issyk-kul at an altitude of about 1630m. We started the farm in 2010 as a family farm but today I (Hannes, farmer, 57) run the farm mostly by my selves with my sons joining me sometimes. In recent years camels have become the most important part of the farm. For the guests two simple rooms are available. Wwoofers can help to bring the hay home because that is much manual work and are also invited to participate in some building and maintenance work, cleaning the stables and the household including the cooking as well. Life on the farm here is very simple: food is rural, I don’t have an automatic washing machine and internet is slow and not available 24-7. The nature around our village is beautiful with high mountains and a nice bush-land near the lake. The minimum time to stay at our farm is one week.
Organic methods: farming without agrochemicals.
Certifications: In the Kyrgyz Republic certification of Organic farms does not exist sofar.
Current projects: hay making, building work, cleaning the stables
