Georgia
A country filled with ancient history, a unique culture, and yet undiscovered by tourists - these factors make traveling to Georgia an especially interesting and unforgettable experience. When travelling to Georgia you will experience wildlife and landscapes still untouched by man, which makes this country even more attractive to visitors. Georgians believe that "the guest is from the Lord" and therefore warm hospitality for our guests is a large part of the culture. We are small eco place in the very beautiful region of Georgia, it is higher Racha. Here We start to create Guest House for different people, and activites. We need help mostly from spring till December. We need now many help with house repairing, preparing wood, hay for winter, work with plants, vegetables, help with horses, pigs, sheeps, rabbits and with many birds. I am flexible and there is an interesting job for everyone. I will teach you how to take care of animals, mow hay and pick mushrooms and herbs. We want to create here a good all year place for people who like wild nature.

I could write exactly the same thing as Silvie. What else is there to say?
When I arrived—52, with no WWOOFing experience—I panicked about the sleeping situation. As a poor sleeper, sleeping in a dorm with others!
Gosia immediately offered me the only other bedroom and was very understanding. Thank you so much, dear Gosia!
Herding sheep and goats is exhausting on the steep terrain, but also incredibly meditative and heartwarming. Guests came twice in the two weeks, so cleaning and making beds was a must. We also successfully collected mushrooms, which were served in various forms. Gosia is an excellent cook. Feeding the animals, mucking out the stables, and processing the ripe pears were other tasks.
Since yesterday, there have been three baby sheep, two of which have to be bottle-fed every two hours, so Gosia is really busy now.
I would have liked to have known this beforehand:
- Only Makti works in Ghebi, not Geocell (SIM card)
- There is no shop here
- A minibus leaves Tbilisi (Didube) for Oni every morning at 8 a.m. Gosia will pick you up from there (40 minutes by car).

I enjoyed working in Gosha's farm. The work involved mostly taking care of animals (in my case bringing goats and sheeps to pasture in the mountain meadows, an experience I'm already missing!), plus a few odd tasks. Gosha cared for the.volunteers, encouraging us to rest once we were done with our daily tasks even if she's bustling around. The accomodations is in dormitories, simple but nice.
Gosha can have a rough communicate style at time, so consider it if this triggers you or stresses you. For me and I think for most volunteers I remember her more for her strong personality, hard working and loving her animals, skilled in so many ways and always eager to learn more, sharing her marvelllig at the nature, caring and with a boisterous laugh.
The village and surrounding mountains are gorgeous and it's possible to hike around. If not, there are other things to do in your free time.

I stayed with Gosia for more than 14 days, and it felt less like work and more like journey with a lot of experiences. My absolute highlight was goin with goats and sheep up the mountain during the day – pure nature and such a special experience. And I felt in love with them.
I’ll also never forget the car rides with Gosia, when she starts singing next to you or funny joking about other drivers – pure entertainment and moments where you just feel alive.
Gosia is an inspiring, funny, and very warm-hearted person who puts so much effort into making sure you feel comfortable. It’s also wonderful to see how much she loves each of her animals and how kind she cares for them. I really recommend staying with her.

I planned to stay few weeks, but left after 3 nights.
- I worked 12-16 hours per day
-Food was partially our own responsibility, and I found myself eating too little. (“there’s lobiani in the freezer” or “here’s some instant noodles” or “cook something with the vegetables in the fridge”).
-The roughly 15 rabbits she had were kept in a dark room in very small cages. She also had a 2 or 3 year old dog that was kept in a small wooden cage the entire day, was let out on 2 meter leash at night, and frequently whimpered during daytime.
-I felt emotionally unsafe the entire time. I felt that instructions were incomplete and conflicting. This led to me being yelled at by her frequently, even though I was unsure of what I had done wrong. Occasionally she claimed she ordered me to do some things that I know for certain she didn’t ask me to do. Consequently I felt constantly on edge and scared.
-She made fun of me for wanting to take basic medical supplies up to the mountains.
-During my entire time I don’t recall being asked a single question about my life.
I see she is going through a challenging period, as running a farm must be very stressful. We had some genuine moments of connection when we spoke about how we had such different personalities. I appreciate her in all of her complexity. I just wish I had more realistic expectations of what it would be like on her farm. I write this review with a lot of love, for her and for all the future amazing volunteers on this platf

Sharing these moments with Gosha and Mathis (other woofer) and some guests in this amazing place of Upper Racha was just incredible; I've loved to be with goats and sheep and feeding all the other animals, I've learnt a lot and enjoyed every moment. Gosha it's the kind of wonder woman who knows how to do quite everything and with whom you can have a crisis of laugh! She's authentic and so true, I'm sure than I will come back, or as a woofer or just being there and trekking in this wonderful area. Thanks for all Gosha/Kalina. I miss you and all the goats & sheep already !

Gosha is a woman who has an unbelievable wealth of knowledge and care for animals. Come here if you want to work with animals, understand animals better, are a hard worker and motivated to take on tasks and contribute to something. With Gosha I felt like I really learnt things and was able to contribute. The nature is unbelievably beautiful and Gosha is the perfect host to introduce you.
I would say don't come here if you need someone to give you constant instruction and aren't confident to just give things a go and figure it out sometimes. But hey that's how you learn right! Gosha has a lot to do herself and it is a help to her if you can work together well.
I had a lovely time, learnt so much, experienced so much and am very thankful for the time spent with Gosha and all the animals.
