Egypti farm is mostly a subsistence farm. It exist between Tampere, Jyvaskyla and Seinajoki. The nearest railwaystation is Haapamaki. Tucked away from the hectic pace of urban life, surrounded by pristine nature rich in wildlife, our schedule is written by the seasons. Possible tasks for volunteers include gardening, chopping wood, clearing forests, cutting grass, caring for animals, heating the sauna as well as the house in the winter time, late summer berry picking, harvesting and processing wild edibles and medicinal plants in the nearby forests. Making food, washin up, doing household cleaning and working with daily tasks are possible. Please tell us your talents so we can work with your abilites. We can accommodate about 2 people at a time.  We work during the days, and in the evenings relax in the traditional finnish sauna and swimming in the lake. We can ride a bicycle around the village, hike or walk in the forest, fish at the lake. You can relax in meditation room or in the cottage. There is one cat and summertimechickens on a farm. You can meet as well many wild animals in the nature.   Certifications: Compost Internet access available

This was my first wwoofing experience in Finland, me being Finnish person. I also was first Finnish wwoofer for Kirsi and Pertti. Kirsi and Pertti are warm and welcoming people, they made me feel like home and being a part of family. Such an unforgettable experience with many heart warming memories. Nice countryside tasks which I really enjoyed and lots of sauna and swimming in cool, autumnal lake. The farm is really peaceful place, by the lake, surrounded by beautiful nature. Thousand thanks for you, Kirsi and Pertti, and hope to see you soon again!

I stayed for two weeks with Kirsi, Pertti, and the other WWOOFers, and it was a really wonderful experience. The farm is a very special place—not only because of the beautiful location by the lake with the sauna right next to it, but also because you immediately feel like part of the family. The work was well-structured, with a clear plan for each day. We worked six days a week (Sundays were free), and the tasks ranged from carrying wood to the woodsheds, cutting bushes and small trees, to cleaning carpets and other practical jobs. There is always a mix of more physical and lighter work, so it’s suitable for everyone. Evenings were often spent together, either around the table or in the sauna, which created a strong sense of community that I really enjoyed. Thanks to the peaceful setting, it’s also a perfect place to recharge mentally. Kirsi is an excellent host with a great sense of humor, and she does everything she can to make you feel at home. I very much hope to return one day for a second time. Thank you for the wonderful time and all the best for the future! :)

We had a wonderful summer at Kirsi and Pertti's farm. We learned so many things about Finnish culture, like wood sauna, food, kitchen setting, etc. We also learned about a family farm with small area for planting potato, tomato, onion, chickens, and so on. We spent only three nights at the farm as this is our first time being WWOOFers and we have a small child. Kirsi and Pertti welcomed us and treated us very well, this is definitely a sweet and special summer experience for us, especially my child. Thank you so much to Kirsi and Pertti.

My stay at Egypti farm was nothing short of wonderful! Kirsi and Pertti welcomed me into their beautiful home with open arms during my month-long stay. My work consisted of baking, organizing, cleaning, weeding, and other various tasks including heating the sauna and making vihtas. The hosts are very organized, but also flexible and open to new ideas. I truly got the best cultural exchange experience while also learning valuable new skills. As a first time wwoofer, I couldn’t recommend a better farm.

I spent a lovely two weeks with Kirsi and Pertti. They are very welcoming and kind hosts. The volunteer immediately feels like a part of the family. I was lucky to join all the Midsummer celebrations and meet Kirsi's family and friends. The work is not hard, it just needs patience and time. We were mostly weeding the vegetables, making vihtas (sauna whisks), feeding chickens and helping with general household chores. I can totally recommend staying with Kirsi and I already want to return to that beautiful farm :)

It was a pleasure to stay with Kirsi and Pertti. Two super kind people! I loved the lake and the sauna and was also happy to have a structured day! There are plenty tasks to do, but never ones which are to heavy 😉. There is also a lot to explore around the house, I really enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me part of your family, Kirsi
