English version further down. Unser Hof liegt nahe vom Bodensee auf einem Hügel 640m ü.M. Du wirst eine wunderbare Rundsicht haben. Mit 18ha ist unser Betrieb weder zu gross, noch zu klein. Unser Hauptbetriebszweig ist die Hirschzucht, aber wir haben auch Pferde, Kühe (während der Vegetationszeit und guten Witterungsbedingungen), Kaninchen und Hühner. Wir bauen eine Baumnussanlage mit über 100 Baumnussbäumen, 400 echte Lavendelbüsche, sowie 700 Apfelbäume. 5 ha Ackerbau mit verschiedenen Getreidesorten. Schule auf dem Bauernhof ist im Aufbau, sowie Bed & Breakfast. Our farm is located near by lake Konstanz, on a hill 640 m a.s.l. You will have a wonderful 360° view. With 18 ha it is a farm not too big and not too small. Our main business is the breeding of deers, but we have also horses, cows (in the Sommertime), rabbits and chicken on our farm. We also start the production of walnuts with more than 100 trees, 400 true lavendar bushes, and a plantage of appletrees (700 pcs). On 5 ha we produce different sorts of corn. Schooling on the farm is being prepared (kind of farmer school) and Bed & Breakfast. We loved our stay at Frohburg! The days are structured and Susann and Gert are welcoming from the get go. We took care of the animals in the early morning and afternoon, and during the morning we would complete various tasks like collecting hay and cleaning. On our days off we could visit the beautiful surroundings. We wil miss the amazing meals and all of the animals.

My friend and I had a very mixed experience at this farm. We only stayed 2 days and left early because it wasn’t a good fit. Most of the reviews are very positive, so we were surprised and hope we just had an outlying experience. Work included feeding and cleaning up after the animals (horses, mini horses, deer, chickens, and rabbits) and weeding. The work itself was enjoyable, and the farm is beautiful in a great location. Work is more time intensive than typical WWOOF guidelines (20–30 hrs/week); this farm is 36 hrs/week (6 hrs/day, 6 days/week). The reason we left was several uncomfortable confrontations and interactions with our host, Susann. Much of this seemed to come down to miscommunication, but we weren’t able to resolve the issues. One thing that made us uncomfortable was being asked not to bring our phones when dropped off in a lavender field for 3 hours even after saying we wanted them for safety in case of an emergency. We also had disagreements due to miscommunication about work times. On the first day, I started an hour late one afternoon because of a misunderstanding about when I was supposed to work. Susann was very upset and said some pretty rude things, which set us off on the wrong foot. The work with the animals was enjoyable, and the food was solid. Overall, we left feeling uncomfortable because the environment was too tense to stay. Given the many positive reviews, I think we may have had a one-off experience. We interview every Woofer and explain the work schedule, days off, and cell phone use, as well as what to expect while staying with us. Unfortunately, they didn’t listen carefully (if you ask questions, you should also take notes on the answers). We really appreciate it when people focus on their work and don’t spend their time texting or playing games (which was also discussed at length and confirmed during the interview). Of course, both of them had their cell phones with them at the lavender field (2 hours) even though we’d agreed otherwise (our tasks rotate every two hours). She’s right that they misunderstood a great deal. Their ability to absorb and apply information was limited. It was also disconcerting that she sat on the terrace for an hour playing on her phone and watching the others work, without realizing she was actually supposed to be helping out—even though she was asked to do so several times (her friend understood and joined in with the work). Of course, several people then reminded her again of the work schedule, without getting “rude.” She’s right that they left on the second day. They also forgot to mention that they enjoyed a delicious lunch in a good atmosphere without mentioning that they would be packing up and leaving right after. Unfortunately, they also forgot to clean their room and the bathroom. We’re looking for motivated, dedicated, friendly, cheerful, helpful, and curious Woofers who have a good sense of self-awareness.

Susann and Gert are some of the most amazing people I've ever met! Ever meal was spent with laughter and good food. They are very down to earth and wise and if you pay attention you can learn a lot from them. It was an amazing experience and I 1000% would love to come back next chance I get.

I had an amazing time while at Frohburg. Susann and Gert were so welcoming and kind. I learned so much during my time at the farm. They were very patient and did a really good job showing you how to do things. The work was physically demanding but so rewarding. You got up to work at 6am everyday and wrapped up work at 6pm. You did get several breaks for breakfast (7am-8am), lunch (12pm-1pm) and then a longer break from 1pm to 5pm on most days. By the end of the day, I was exhausted and slept so well. I got to spend time working with horses, chickens and even deer! I also got to work with the different crops that they grow on their farm like lavender and walnuts. Susann was such an incredible cook and was very accommodating of my dietary restrictions making sure I was well fed throughout my stay. Not only was the work great at Frohburg but just getting to spend time with Susann and Gert was lovely as well. They are both so kind and fun to be around. I feel like I have gained two new friends through this incredible experience.

This was my first time WWOOFing, and I could not have picked a better farm or better hosts to start with. Susann and Gert are absolutely wonderful — super friendly, warm, and welcoming, making you feel like family from the moment you arrive. For the ten days I was there, I had the chance to work with all the animals, from the chickens and rabbits to the deer. The days start early at 6am, and while the physical work is genuinely challenging, it is incredibly rewarding — whether you're cleaning stables, feeding the animals, working in the fields, or tending to the lavender, there is always something to be done. But it's not just the farm work that makes this place so special — it's the people. Susann and Gert are genuinely fascinating, and we had the most interesting and funny conversations over meals and throughout the day. Susann is also an incredible cook, and every meal eaten together made the whole stay feel warm and communal. On my day off, Susann gave me so many great ideas on places to visit and things to do in the area. Gert too was always generous with his time, patient and happy to show you the ropes whatever the task. Spending time with the animals, especially the deer, is just magical, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. I am so glad I chose Frohburg for my first WWOOFing experience and I plan to definitely come back. Thank you so much, Susann and Gert :)

We were so happy to take part of the Susann and Gert's farm for two weeks. We made so many activities : taking care of animals ; working in fields ; preparing the lavendel ; making walnut oil and so much more. The hosts are really generous and so welcoming. We had many interesting and funny conversations with them. Moreover, Susann is a really good cooker ! Thank you again for these two beautiful weeks.
