English version further down. We run a little hobby farm near a river and a nature reserve. We have chicken, sheep, quails, rabbits, cats, a dog, and a big garden with fruit trees and vegetables. At the moment we are renovating the house and are looking for help also with carpenter work and plastering. Prepare breakfast, do some gardening, feed the animals, cook lunch for everybody, pick cherries, do laundry or cleaning, help clearing out stables or putting up fences. Our intention is to teach you a lot, help you discover all your skills and give you an unforgettable experience. If you are seriously interested to learn German, we could arrange qualified tution. My stay here became a highlight of my entire trip. The host, Silvia, is patient and charming. This place is perfect for anyone who loves nature and wants to enjoy Swiss life at a leisurely pace. [Work & Life] Simple Tasks: Work includes gardening, feeding animals, playing with kids, cooking, and laundry. Flexible Schedule: The schedule is flexible. You can adjust your hours, like working a full day for a day off. [Meals & Facilities] Great Food: You can enjoy traditional Swiss dishes, customized meals, and international cuisine by other WWOOFers sometimes. Accommodation: There is one private room and two spaces divided by curtains. The house is under renovation, so more rooms may renovated later. The toilet and shower have hot water, though they currently use curtains as doors.[Environment & Access] Animals: There are rabbits, pigs, sheep, birds, dogs, and cats. The friendly dogs love walks. Travel & Access: If you drive, you can borrow the car to visit museums in Bern. For access, they can pick you up by car from a nearby town or the nearest station. [Conclusion] You are treated like family, not just a laborer. I highly recommend this place. Even if your English isn't strong, the hosts try hard to understand you. I definitely plan to return in the winter. see you soon, Silvia!!

We had a great week volunteering with Silvia. She was an amazing host and we immediately felt very welcomed. Meals were shared either with other volunteers or also with Silvia and the kids. Silvia always made an effort to accommodate for any dietary needs. The food was delicious and fresh and Silvia makes great jam. When we arrived three other volunteers were staying, two of these left the next day and the rest of our stay was us and one other volunteer. There was a fun social vibe, sharing meals and free time together with options for space and alone time too. We had our own room which was simple but nice and spacious. We could also use the washing machine. We were given options for work we could do. Over the week we took down an old fence, made a new firewood storage, weeded, fed and watered animals, collected eggs and helped with the kids. There were options for jobs working alone or as a group. The kids were great, very energetic and lots of fun, they didn’t speak English but we were able to communicate enough to play and help with daily routines. There was lots of down time. Silvia was an incredibly generous host and lent us her car on a few occasions to visit local areas. She had amazing suggestions of local spots and what to do. We went to a few local rivers for a swim/walk, visited Murten and Bern, and spent a day in Lucerne. We had an amazing week and would have loved to have stayed longer. We would definitely recommend volunteering with Silvia.

I spent about ten days staying with Silvia on her farm and had a wonderful experience. I was able to bring my dog, who was also welcome inside the house (except de kitchen and living area). The farm is located in a very peaceful and rural area, surrounded by hills, fields and only a few houses and farms. In the mornings and evenings, you may even spot foxes or deer. The area is lovely to explore on foot or by bike, with places such as a small ruin and the Sense River nearby. Thun, Bern and Fribourg can also be reached by public transport. If you come without a car, I recommend discussing transport to the nearest bus stop or train station with Silvia, as the farm is not very well connected to public transport. I felt very welcome throughout my stay. I was included in family life, had my own room and could use the washing machine. Silvia was very accommodating with food preferences and I could help myself to the fridge at any time. Silvia is pragmatic, uncomplicated and very considerate. She took my interests into account and found tasks that I enjoyed and that suited me. I never felt like just a helper, but rather like a part of the family. I also quickly grew very fond of her three boys. I would definitely consider visiting Silvia and the animals again. If you are looking for a peaceful, remote farm away from noise and everyday stress, I can highly recommend staying here.

My stay with Silvia and her sons was very adventurous! If you love having animals around you it is definitely the place to go (especially when they have puppies!!!). You will definitely need a pit of patience with the boys and the work can be hard- I was there in Summer so it was definitely something… I had such a nice time and will definitely come back and visit them! You slide right in and become part of their days, if a little bit of chaos is what you are looking for, this is the place for you :)

Silvia made sure everything was prepared and ready before the volunteering period. She offered a wide variety of jobs tailored to my interests, and this flexibility suited me. There was plenty of time for work and rest, and the work never felt forced. I learnt alot about how a hobby farm works, and how to take care of all the animals. I also learnt how to make jam and other recipes...yum! Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, especially with the people I met there, and the animals and plants on the farm. I would recommend to volunteer at Silvia's farm without hesitation.
